      How to grow...

  • Cabbage 
1)Start seeds indoors 6 to 4 weeks before the last frost in spring or 12 to 10 weeks before the first frost in autumn for a fall or winter crop.

2) Start seeds in individual pots or flats.

3)Sow seed ¼ to ½ (6-8 mm) inch deep in the seed-starting mix.

4) Seeds should germinate in 5 to 8 days at an optimal temperature of 77°F (Cabbage prefers a soil pH range of 6.0 to 7.5)


          ​Beets

1) Soak the beet seeds in water overnight to soften their shells.

2) elect a perforated flat that's approximately 2 to 3 inches deep and fill the flat almost to the top with potting soil.

3) Moisten the soil with warm water and sprinkle  the seeds over the soil surface, approximately 1 inch apart. Cover them with a 1/2-inch layer of moist soil.

4) Position the tray in a warm area of the house. Aim for a temperature between 75 and 90 degrees F. Water soil as needed.


    Carrots

1) Container should be at least 12 inches deep

2) Use light organically rich potting soil with high potassium content

3) Fertilizer should be general purpose vegetable that is low in nitrogen

4) Most carrots do best in full sun (depending on variety)
